Can bunion splints or braces help to correct the alignment of the toe?

Asked 4 years ago

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has had success with bunion splints or braces in correcting the alignment of their big toe. I have a moderate bunion and I have tried various remedies without much success. I am hoping that a bunion splint or brace might be able to help shift the position of my toe back into place. Has anyone used these products and seen a noticeable improvement in their bunion? I would appreciate any feedback or experiences you are willing to share. Thank you!

By stabilizing the toe and minimizing pressure on the afflicted area, bunion splints or braces can help reduce pain and discomfort. They may also slow the growth of the deformity by keeping the toe from angling further towards the second toe. They may be useful in treating symptoms, but they are unlikely to correct the underlying toe deformity.
