Are there any risks associated with using insoles?
Asked 4 years ago
I recently purchased orthotics for my casual shoes. I really like them and they have given me great pain relief. I was thinking about whether there are any long or short-term negative effects of wearing orthotics constantly.

The only risks associated with using insoles are if you choose a pair which do not fit you correctly, or are not best-suited for your unique foot shape. This in turn could lead over time to issues such as foot pain. However, by taking the time to choose the right insole for you (custom orthotics are a great choice as they are designed to exactly match your personal foot shape and size) you can get all of the benefits of wearing insoles, with none of the risks.
