How can insoles help with gout-related foot pain?

Asked 4 years ago

I have had Gout for around 2 years, I find it quite difficult to walk for extended periods of time due to the pain from the inflammation. I am interested in buying orthotics to see if they allow me to be more mobile however I am unsure how they help. If anyone knows this then I would appreciate it.

Insoles can definitely help to relieve your painful gout symptoms. If suffering from gout, it would be better to select an insole which provides a soft level of support throughout the foot, rather than a firmer, more solid option. This will help to cushion the bones in your toes and feet, and to reduce the pressure on the areas affected by gout.
