How can I prevent dry skin on my feet as I age?
Asked 4 years ago
As I'm getting older, I've noticed my feet are getting drier and drier. It's uncomfortable and embarrassing, so I want to find a way to prevent it from getting worse. I've tried using lotions, but they don't seem to be doing much to help. I'm wondering if there are any other things I can do to keep my feet moisturized and healthy as I age. Is there a specific product I should be using? I'm open to any suggestions anyone might have.

Dry skin may be partly caused by loss of water in the deeper layers of the skin due to ageing. Staying well hydrated by drinking plenty of water is a good place to start. A balanced diet with plenty of protein and vitamins can also help with the skin’s health. Try to avoid scratching which can cause infections and further damage, and look for low-pH level emollient creams to apply once or twice a day.
