Are insoles effective for people of all ages?

Asked 4 years ago

Hey, I love my insoles for my plantar fasciitis. My mother also suffers from plantar fasciitis, I have recommended the insoles that I use, however, I am questioning whether they will be as effective for her as they have been for me because of her age. Is age a factor that affects the insole effectiveness?

Simply put – no it isn't. Anyone of any age can wear orthotics, and there are options and sizes available to cater for all ages, from children up to adults. Orthotics that help to raise and support the arches can be a great help for anyone with plantar fasciitis. It sounds like they could definitely help your mother. In fact, for a slightly older person in general, using the correct orthotic can also improve balance, reduce the risk of falls, and improve symptoms of other common age-related conditions such as knee osteoarthritis.
