Are there any foot conditions that are more common in seniors?

Asked 4 years ago

Hi, I have always taken great care of my feet, but as I age I want to make sure I'm taking the necessary steps to maintain my foot health. Are there any specific foot conditions that I should be looking out for? I want to be proactive and take care of my feet so that I can continue to stay active as I age. Any advice would be great.

Of course! Seniors often experience diabetic foot ulcers, calluses, cracked heels, ingrown nails, bunions, corns, hammertoe, heel pain, thickened or discoloured nails etc.

Regular visits to a podiatrist can help you maintain your foot health. Also, check in immediately if you notice something odd with your feet.
