Hey there, I need help finding a good new pair of boots for hiking, and I'm wondering what features to look for. Specifically, I'm curious about what materials and construction methods are best for high-quality hiking boots. Can anyone share some advice on what to look for when shopping for durable and well-made boots? I want a pair that will last me a long time and can handle different weather conditions. There are many varieties of hiking boots available in the market according to the type of hiking you prefer. I am considering that you are a day hiker and will be recommending you shoes according to your needs:
- mid to high cut ankle support boots with stiff sole to provide you with protection and stability.
- Prefer split grain leather if you want to save some bucks or else opt for full grain leather if you want durable and water resistant hiking boots.
- Depending on the terrain, opt for a layer of Goretex that repels water but makes shoes less breathable. If you hike on dessert or drier climates, then selecting a non waterproof boot will be better.
