How long does it usually take for a blister to heal on its own?

Asked 4 years ago

I just got a blister on my foot from wearing my new running shoes out on a run and I'm wondering how long it will take to heal on its own. It's not painful or anything, but it's definitely annoying and I don't want it to get infected. I've been trying to keep it clean and dry, but I'm not sure if there's anything else I should be doing. TYIA!

Most blisters take 3-7 days to heal without requiring medical attention. Depending on the severity of the blisters, it is best to seek medical help if the blisters persist after seven days. To avoid infections, do not burst the blisters. If it does burst, avoid peeling off the skin.
